Why is it important to forget things?
Research shows that our brain has active mechanisms for forgetting. Both storing and losing memories are important for selecting and holding the most relevant information. Forgetting helps to get rid of outdated information. Forgetting details helps us to remember what needs to be remembered.
Do we ever really forget anything?
“Decades of research has shown that we have the ability to voluntarily forget something, but how our brains do that is still being questioned.” Much prior research on intentional forgetting has focussed on brain activity in the prefrontal cortex, and the brain’s memory centre, the hippocampus.

How do you remember things quickly after learning them?
As he learned from testing his self for the experiment that “information is often lost very quickly after learned”. Cues can help you recall things from memory. A good example, my Art History professor told us on taking notes in class to retain memory, was to do a quick and simple sketch of an art work, with lil key notes on important facets of it.
