Why are so many anime about teenagers?
As public education replaced farm-work post-World War II, teenage subculture began to develop. Anime developed during the same period. As the teen subculture developed in Japanese society, it latched onto manga and anime as a part of its identity. This led anime to focus on coming-of-age stories.
Why does every anime protagonist have dead parents?
Whenever an anime character has a missing/dead parent, chances are very high that it’s the mother. If both parents are alive, it’s usually the father who is more relevant to the story. If it’s a shounen/seinen series, the father is usually stronger and/or more relevant than the mother.
Why do Shonen protagonists not have dads?
Most Shonen stories are often about empowerment. Having your dad boss you around isn’t very well attributed to that goal, so it’s often cut out, where they give some reason for them not being there. (Though in Naruto’s case his father plays a larger role than normal.)

Why are they always yelling in anime?

Why do most anime characters have to be young?
Well, anime nowadays seems to target the younger audience, so it would make more sense to also have a young protagonist since it would be alot easier for a teen to relate to rather than let’s say a character who’s in the 40’s. Also, it’s probably influenced by the culture, since Japanese people seem to be pretty into cute stuff.

What is the average age for anime to end?

Why do anime characters have so many female voices?
