Why did Terminator dark fate do bad?
Firstly, there’s simply a lack of originality in this film as it rehashes the time-travel plot from previous efforts. All the Terminator movies, bar Terminator: Salvation, dealt with robots traveling back in time to kill a messiah, so having the Rev-9 doing this felt repetitive.
Why is Terminator dark fate different?
Dark Fate is so named exactly because the characters reject their grim, supposedly destined future. The movie shows that Sarah Connor has changed the future with the choices she made in Terminator 2.
Is Terminator dark fate a flop?
Joker became the must-see movie that Dark Fate could only dream of being, attracting an adult audience away from the Terminator offering. Joker’s continued success wasn’t the main reason Dark Fate flopped, but it certainly didn’t help a movie that was already facing a box-office challenge.
Is Terminator dark fate inappropriate?
The MPAA rated Terminator: Dark Fate R for violence throughout, language and brief nudity.
Is Dani Ramos John Connor?
Dani Ramos is a protagonist in Terminator: Dark Fate. She is the leader of the human resistance like John Connor was before. Unfortunately, having John Connor die so she could replace him turned out to be a bad idea.
Are Genisys and dark fate connected?
Terminator: Dark Fate avoided making the same mistakes as the previous franchise sequel, Terminator Genisys. The James Cameron-produced film is a direct sequel to his Terminator 2: Judgement Day, wiping-out every film after that 1991 hit, including the box-office bomb Genisys.
Is there a sequel to Dark Fate?
Terminator: Dark Fate’s cancelled sequel planned to launch another alternate timeline, which would have been the last nail in the franchise’s coffin. “For one thing, Terminator Salvation’s jump into the post-apocalyptic future was widely disliked by critics*” Never saw a fan dislike that movie.
Can my 12 year old watch Terminator dark fate?
Terminator: Dark Fate has a certificate of 15 in the UK, meaning children under 15 are not permitted to see the film, even with an adult. In the USA, the rating is R, meaning it is even harder for kids to get into the movie as those under 18 are not permitted to see it without an adult accompanying them.
Can a 13 year old watch Terminator dark fate?
This movie has stabbing and gunshots but not that bad. In my opinion this should be 13+ but this has to be the least violent terminator.
Why is Terminator after Dani?
Dark Fate’s inclusive casting wasn’t the only aspect that made Reyes proud. [SPOILERS AHEAD] Throughout Dark Fate, we’re set up to believe that Dani is the new Sarah, that the Terminator was sent after her because, like Sarah, she would give birth to the future leader of the Resistance.
What happened to Skynet in Terminator Dark Fate’s new timeline?
Time travel is obviously a tricky and dangerous thing, but one of the oddest elements of Terminator: Dark Fate ‘s new timeline is that Skynet doesn’t even exist in it anymore. And what is bizarre is that, while John Connor was a threat to their potential victory in the robot vs. human war, it was not guaranteed that the humans were going to win.
Is the new Terminator movie Dark Fate worth watching?
The movie absolutely has it’s strengths and weaknesses, and seeing the OG Sarah Connor herself, Linda Hamilton, back in action and better than ever makes the entirety of Dark Fate worthwhile. But this movie isn’t just a sequel to the original two Terminator films, it’s also a bit of a reset of the entire story and series.
What is your review of Dark Fate?
Dark Fate takes the “nice Terminator” from Terminator 2, and stretches out the idea to a satirical degree. The return of the T-800 that killed John was my favorite part of the film, but in an ironic sense; the fact that the killing machine retired and raised a family was like something out of Rick and Morty .
What happened to the Terminator sequels?
The Terminator sequels following T2 suffered from a variety of problems. Beginning with rights issues in the mid-’90s that would haunt the franchise for years to come, the sequels featured underwhelming scripts, misguided ideas, constant recasting and an ever-contradictory canon that prevented the series from retaining the audience’s imagination.
