Where in the Bible does it say to pray to Jesus?
Blake Ferrell, Neighbor. In Luke 11:1-13 we hear some of Jesus’ thoughts on prayer. It is evident from Luke’s Gospel that Jesus prays often (Luke 3:21; 5:16; 6:12; 9:18, 28). Jesus’ disciples have no doubt noticed His prayerfulness and in this passage they ask Him to teach them how to pray (Luke 11:1).
How do I approach God to pray?
When approaching God in prayer, don’t just go and start talking, Chan advised; rather, come silently, come slowly, and be careful. “As I look at the way the disciples prayed back then and as I look at the way Jesus taught us to pray, I realize it’s a lot different from what I was taught,” he said.
Why should we pray to Jesus?
Prayer gives us an opportunity to better understanding who we are in Christ. He shows us our purpose and gives us direction when we need to grow. He demonstrates how to have more confidence in the Lord and pours out his unconditional love. Through prayer, we see the person God sees when he looks at us.
Does God answer my prayers?
Does God answer prayers? The short answer to this question is, “Yes!” God has promised that, when we ask for things that are in accordance with His will for our lives, He will give us what we ask for ( 1 John 5:14–15 ). However, there is one caveat to add to this: we may not always like the answer.
Why doesn’t God give us what we want immediately?
When we ask God for something we shouldn’t expect to get it right away; God doesn’t give us what we want right away. He’s not a same day delivery kind of God. He wants us to wait. He wants us to put our faith into practice by trusting that he will do what we asked.
Do You give Yourself continuously to prayer?
“ But we will give ourselves continually to prayer…” (Acts 6:4). “… prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God …” (Acts 12:5). If those who walked beside the Lord Jesus for three years were dependent upon prayer, how much more should we be! What a grave mistake if we’re casual about our prayer life.
Do you look to prayer to solve all your problems?
Too often we look to prayer to solve all of our problems instead of focusing on meditation. We always feel the need to voice our concerns to God constantly telling him what we need forgetting that he already knows. Instead of repeatedly making attempts to be heard, we should be listening to what God has to say.
