What is Sharanga bow?
Sharanga (Devanagari: शारंग) is the celestial bow of the Hindu God Vishnu. This bow was crafted by Viswakarma, the Cosmic architect and maker of weapons, along with the Pinaka, the bow of Shiva. Once, Brahma wanted to know who was a better archer, Vishnu or Shiva.
Which bow did Rama break?

Sharanga, Pinaka and Gandiva all three are divine bows. Sharanga bow is bow of Shri Hari Vishnu. Crafted by Vishwakarma. Three Vishnu Avatar’s Parashurama, Rama and Krishna weilded Sharanga Bow. That’s why Vishnu is also called as weilder of Sharanga. Sharanga was indestructible bow as per Parashurama.
What is the difference between Gandiva and Sharanga and Pinaka?

Who gave the Pinaka bow to Lord Shiva?
The Pinaka Bow was made by God Vishwakarma (Vishwakarma is a Divine Architect) and later he gifted it to Lord Shiva. SIDE NOTE: God Vishwakarma made another bow along with the Pinaka Bow, which was “Sharanga” and he gifted it to Lord Vishnu.
Why did Vishwakarma create two different bows of different calibers?
Similarly in Shiva Puran Shiva is supreme and His weapon becomes more powerful. The point is Vishwakarma didn’t create bows of different caliber. They Neither is more powerful than the other. Vishwakarma when he created the two bows he created them equal and gave Sharanga to Vishnu and Pinaka to Shiva
