From a casual t-shirt, jeans and trainers to a tuxedo or formal dress, there are no dress codes. You could turn up to the theatre wearing anything and be permitted entry. For some theatrical events, such as a first preview, press nights, galas and opening nights, it may be worth donning a “smart-casual” outfit.
How do you dress for a film set?
Dress the part Like so much of production, set dressing is physical labor. Come prepared and wear comfortable closed-toe shoes. Dress in dark colors — a white shirt is never welcome on a film set. White can pick up a lot of light, so stick to what we call set blacks.

What should I wear? You are welcome to dress as casually or as smartly as you like. However, the theatre is entirely outdoors so please remember to come prepared for all types of weather, including sun cream, waterproofs and jumpers. We do sell picnic blankets and ponchos.
What should I wear for performance?
Wear clothes that you know are comfortable, look nice, and won’t distract you during your performance. Avoid loose, or flowing attire: Large collars, wide lapels, and billowing sleeves can get in the way of your playing your instrument. Don’t wear these type of items when dressing for a performance.
What color looks best on stage?
Jewel tones like purple, teal, emerald green, or sapphire blue are highly saturated colors. They always look great on stage and on camera, and they work with most skin tones. Pastels can be an alternative palette when presenting in front of dark backdrops, but they can be more challenging for certain skin tones.

Clothes and Colors to Avoid Don’t wear all black or all white. Even though black is slimming, neutral tones like gray or light pastels like lilac or blue are good options. The camera will boost contrast. White is a bad choice because it can be too visually overwhelming and “blind” the viewer.
