Why do parents do their kids homework?
Parents are listening. Helping with homework is one of the most common things that parents say they do to support their children’s learning. Many experts have found that helping with homework cultivates positive learning behaviors, reinforces class material and signals to children that their education is important.
Is it bad to get a bad grade at school?
Let’s face it, it can be demoralizing to get a bad grade—or a series of bad grades. Some young people who are failing at school may give up trying to improve their grades. What should I do when my child doesn’t want to go to school?
Step in quickly. Missed schoolwork and social experiences snowball, making school avoidance a problem that grows larger and more difficult to control as it rolls along. Be on the lookout for any difficulties your child might have around attending school on time and staying for the full day. If the problem lasts more than a day or two, step in.
