Is it safe to give someone passbook?
If just passbook has been stolen, then there is nothing to worry. With just a passbook, no one can steal your money. But, you should inform this matter to your Bank immediately and apply for issuing a new passbook. That’s it!
What can people do with passbook?
You passbook is an unquestionable record of transactions between a bank and the customer and it cannot be falsified in any condition. Losing a passbook can result in great trouble as anyone can misuse your account details and personal details. This can lead to theft and other types of financial frauds.
Do companies ask for Aadhaar?
Now private companies cannot insist on Aadhaar detaisl of the consumers. The five-judge constitution bench of the Supreme Court led by CJI Dipak Misra has struck down Section 57 of the Aadhaar Act which provided that private companies could ask consumers for Aadhaar details for identification purposes.
Can people take money from passbook?
While taking out money from your account using the bank’s withdrawal form, it’s mandatory to have a bank passbook. So, no one else can withdraw money from your account unless you give a written consent authorising another person to withdraw cash on your behalf.
Even just sharing your PAN number with someone whom you can’t trust is also not good. So avoid sharing PAN number also. Some suspicious persons may try to trace your PAN if they know some basic details about you. Like your surname, date of birth and in some cases your father’s name.
There should not be any problem in sharing your passbook details and Aadhaar Number with recruiters as possibility of misuse is negligible. Aadhaar serves as your POI and POA also.
Is Aadhaar safe from third party websites?
However, it said, such publication does not threaten or impact security of Aadhaar and its database which remains “safe and secure”. The statement by UIDAI come in backdrop of reports claiming that information about Aadhaar may be available from third party websites, and that a Google search may lead to Aadhaar details of several people.
Can You impersonate someone with your Aadhaar card?
UIDAI argued that mere knowledge about someone’s Aadhaar card is not sufficient to impersonate that person as biometric authentication is needed to establish ones identity. The UIDAI today asked people to take “due precautions” while sharing their personal information such as Aadhaar on the internet for availing any service.
Can you be sued for publishing your Aadhaar number?
“If anybody unauthorisedly publishes someone’s personal information such as Aadhaar card, mobile number, bank account, photograph, etc., he can be sued for civil damages by the person whose privacy right is infringed,” UIDAI statement noted.
