Yes. Indiana law requires the court to review each CHINS case every six months. This review is called a Placement Review Hearing.

The CHINS case is a civil case filed to protect the child and secure court ordered services for the child, parents, legally appointed guardians, and custodians.

What Happens After I Call? If a call from a mandated reporter meets the five criteria and the Child Abuse Hotline registers the report, CPS must follow up and investigate. Once you turn 18, your parents do not have the legal right to withhold your legal documents from you. If they refuse to give you your documents, you have the right to call the police for assistance.
What happens if a parent does not sign a child’s ID?
The parent will simply copy the number into the necessary form. If the parent did not sign the card, by the time the actual card needs to be shown — possibly when the child applies for a summer job or for a driver’s license — it is likely that the child will be old enough to use cursive writing and sign his/her full legal name on it.
