When the narcissist wants to evoke some punishment on a target they dispatch their henchmen (aka flying monkeys) to do their bidding. Unfortunately, this can and often does include abusive behavior such as guilt-tripping, twisting the truth, gaslighting, assaults, threats, and violence.

Go No Contact With the Flying Monkeys. Flying monkeys pretend to care, but they really thrive off of information they can gossip over and stir the pot with the narcissist. You cannot trust them. Their help costs you the narcissist trying to reach out. Depending on where you are with your healing, you don’t need that.
What are flying monkeys and dependent personality disorders?
Those with dependent personality disorder may also become unaware flying monkeys. This type is particularly attractive to the narcissist. In addition to carrying out their bidding, the dependent personality won’t make any decisions big or small without the narcissist. This is an added bonus because it feeds the narcissist’s superiority complex.
