How do I stop Fangirling over Kpop?
- Watch other content where the idol is not present. Try switching up and watch another K-pop group’s content, so you can forget the K-pop idol you are obsessed with.
- Watch non-K-pop related content. Start watching non-K-pop TV shows or start listening to pop music instead of K-pop.
- Try to get into other idols.
How do you respond to people who hate on K-pop stars?
You can also respond with details about their music, or information about their actual musical talent. In general though, if someone is hating on your favorite kpop star and isn’t willing to hear any actual details about the artist, then it is pretty pointless to try and convince them logically. Haters gonna hate, no matter what you have to say.
What does Kpop look like from the outside?
From the outside, it just looks like any old sugary pop performance….a bunch of young Asian men wearing a lot of makeup, jumping and dancing around on stage, reminiscent of the boy bands of olden days (Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, New Kids on the Block). Kpop lovers frequently get hate on social media, and ribbing from friends (or foes).
What does it mean if someone calls a Kpop Star gay?
In general, it says a lot more about the person who makes jokes or makes fun of people because of their sexual orientation. Anyone who is calling out kpop stars as “gay” or “bi” or any other hateful version of name calling for orientation is showing off their ignorance and their own personal beliefs.
Is it gay to wear makeup in Kpop?
It’s part of a social expectation of having to look your best. It’s not going to make anyone gay. “Gayness” is not an illness you can catch by using make-up. K-pop is also a visual package, built on imagery, color, texture. It’s a different culture, but different does not mean worse and definitely does not mean ‘gay’.
