How did animals start eating each other?
Bacteria access energy by absorbing carbon from decaying dead organisms. Another strategy is of course eating. This evolved as a very effective means to access energy, by eating other organisms, thus taking in their energy reserves. It can be from eating any lifeform from bacteria to plants to animals.
