Could Thor have defeated Hela?

Posted on October 20, 2022 by Admin

Could Thor have defeated Hela?

Probably not. The Hela in the MCU was vastly more powerful (and very different) than her comics counterpart. In the comics, she was ruler in Hel, an embodiment of death. As such, she really couldn’t die (nor was she strong enough to directly defeat Thor in battle.)

How come Hela was able to destroy Mjolnir?

But recognizing his daughter was a bloodthirsty warlord as he was losing his way, Odin banished her and placed the enchantment on the hammer for the Worthy to pick it up later on. This opens up the possibility Hela might have retained some hold over the faithful hammer, enabling her to break it.

Why can Hela hold the hammer?

Those enchantments of only a worthy person for holding the hammer were only made in the first Thor movie when Thor was banished at Earth. There were no enchantments on it before that. Hela’s power was equal to Odin’s before she was imprisoned. It was Odin’s power that kept her away from the Asgard.

Why was Hela able to easily destroy Mjolnir?

One of the reasons that some believe that Hela was able to easily destroy Mjolnir is that they believe the hammer once belonged to her. After all, we know that the weapon predates Thor and that the God of Thunder did not know any of the history of Hela.

What happened to Hela in Thor Ragnarok?

Early in Thor: Ragnarok, the God of Thunder and Loki are stood beside their father, Odin, who explains that he is dying and with his end, comes a great threat, Hela. Odin had been able to keep Hela imprisoned for centuries, but his death would lower the enchantment placed on her prison, thus freeing her.

Can Thor bring Mjolnir back from destruction?

Thor has rarely been without his signature weapon for any significant period of time as he has been able to get it back. Sometimes, the God of Thunder just has to touch Mjolnir to bring it back from destruction. 3 Who Else Can Lift Mjolnir?

How many times has Thor lost his hammer?

Mjolnir is a ferocious weapon and an essential part of the God of Thunder’s identity, but Thor’s lost the hammer multiple times– and not just to Hela. Out of all the pieces of equipment used by heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mjolnir is arguably the most iconic.
