Can we take medicines in domestic flights?
Liquids are permitted only upto 3 ounces (about 100 ml) in cabin baggage. But those who need to carry larger quantities of medication are permitted to do so. However, the medication will at times be authenticated. Also, it should always be accompanied with a prescription on the name of the person who is carrying them.
Do you need a doctor’s letter to travel with medication?
When you are travelling with any medication, you should always bring the following: A copy of your original prescription. A letter from your doctor that includes details of the medication (including its generic and brand name, and dosage), any required medical supplies, and the condition being treated.
Are medicines allowed in checked baggage?
Please note: IndiGo recommends that all medication, valuables, fragile items, perishable items and precious items (cameras, jewelry, money, electronics, etc.) should be carried in Cabin Baggage and not in Checked Baggage.
Can I fly with medications?
You can bring your medication in pill or solid form in unlimited amounts as long as it is screened. You can travel with your medication in both carry-on and checked baggage. It’s highly recommended you place these items in your carry-on in the event that you need immediate access.
Do I need to carry prescriptions on a plane in India?
For domestic flights in India you are not required to carry the prescription. (but it is a good idea to take a prescription along just in case you lose the medicine!) But please take them in carry on. Do not check them in.

Can I take Ayurvedic medicines on a plane?
Simple small sized bottles of Ayurvedic medicines are allowed and that too in small amounts. The individual has to present a prescription along with whichever medicine he/she is bringing on the flight. All the Ayurvedic medicines should be packed well and sealed.
Can I carry all my medicines in my hand luggage?
Yes, you can carry all your medicines as long as you are carrying a prescription of the doctor with it. There are chances that medicines may contain things like controlled substances like steroids. Hence, it is always a smart idea to carry prescription. Practically, unless it is a lot of liquid – you shouldn’t have any problems.
