Can I self publish the same book on multiple sites?

If you signed Amazon’s exclusivity agreement or otherwise encumbered the rights, maybe not, but if it’s your book and you’re self-publishing, you absolutely can. I’ve published some of my books through half a dozen websites: Kindle Direct Publishing, CreateSpace, Nook Press, Smashwords, iBooks, Lightning Source, etc.

Can I sell an eBook on my website?

Selling eBooks Without DRM eBooks can be added to their eCommerce website as a downloadable product. Customers can add them to shopping carts and pay for them just as they pay for a physical book. After they check out, the eBook is provided instantly as a download. Pretty simple.

Is Smashwords better than KDP?

Smashwords are perhaps marginally ahead in this regard. There are no international barriers or scaled royalties. Unlike Amazon KDP, both Draft2Digital and Smashwords pay a set royalty rate for sales to customers in all countries and all points of sale. You are free to choose your pricing – even free if you want to.

Can the same book be published by two different publishers?

So we can say, there’s no way the same book could differ, even with two publishers. Publisher A would be producing 50,000 copies. After a time, Author X decided to print more. Publisher B published another set of 50,000 copies. Should there be changes in the content afterwards, Author X should log that version as Second edition.

Can I self publish a book and sell it to publishers?

Absolutely. There’s nothing stopping you from taking a self-published book and selling the rights to a traditional publisher. This happens on occasion. The problem is that your self published book offers good data about how likely it is to sell very successfully. Publishers would rather have a few home run successes than a number of moderate ones.
