Will I die if I pray?
If you pray for death, he may give you something to live for. It is not possible to answer this question with any authority. If God granted the request, the person would be dead and unable to confirm that death came from God.
Why do people pray before they die?

Does God decide when people die?
We just saw the example of Noah’s flood which illustrates that God does decide when people die. He also gives life! In Deuteronomy 32:39 God declares that He gives life, takes life, heals and no one is more powerful. It is I who put to death and give life. And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.
Does God know the time of our death?
He knows the time of our death, and He has even appointed it. The Bible says, “Man’s days are determined; you (God) have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed” (Job 14:5).
Are life and death in the hands of God?
