It does not in any way reflect any of Amazon’s policies, work-culture or management. General: It’s an amazing place to be. Every software engineer around you is very talented, and carries a wealth of experience/talent. Your managers/colleagues are accessible and always willing to help.

Is Amazon AWS a good place to work?
Nice place to add to your resume. I strongly believe in Amazon future, but I would never recommend it as a place to work. Engineering bar is really low. People are overloaded and don’t have time to learn. Was this review helpful? AWS is focused on results. The motto of the company (Amazon at large) is” its day 1″.
What skills do engineers need to be successful at Amazon?
Engineers need to be developers, operators, architects, testers and security experts. Amazon teaches developers these skills. Robert A. Heinlein would be proud. DevOps is also DevSecsOps, it’s about injecting security into the process. When starting a new project the first thing developers work on is an architecture and a threat model.
