Civil Engineering innovations have their greatest impacts on the quality of human lives. Buildings are the largest contributors to greenhouse gases. Civil Engineers make powerful buildings and other pivotal facilities which can make our life great. Traffic Engineering is also a part of the Civil Engineer’s job.
How can engineering bring positive change?
Engineers use devices like drones to detect and reach survivors, help to build shelters and safe water and waste disposal systems. They use their knowledge to get transport systems back up and running, help to safely demolish and rebuild structures and get water, power and heating systems working.

It stops being just a problem they are solving and starts becoming true impact. As a brand new engineer it is easy to get sucked into just churning out solutions. Sure it feels good to get the right answer. It’s always a boost when you accomplish a goal, finish a project, or eliminate an obstacle at work.

For many engineers, the inspiration comes from the impact that their engineering work can have on people, on their communities, and on the world around them now and in the future. Engineering is a helping profession, having direct, observable, and tangible impacts on people’s lives.

Many engineers choose a career based on interests they developed during their teens or early twenties. Of course, our interests and priorities change over time, so it’s not uncommon to find yourself in a profession that’s not a good match anymore.
