What is the probability of picking a red marble after a blue marble had been picked first?
So the probability of red is 1 in 3.
What is the probability that the marble be red or green?
The probability that the marble is either red or green is 0.8.
What is the probability that all three marbles are different colors?
The probability therefore of choosing three different coloured balls is the product of each probability, the order is immaterial. This is therefore (12/30)x(10/30)x(8/30). Now, we have to work out how many ways there are of choosing three different coloured balls. This comes out at 3 factorial i.e. 3x2x1 = 6.
How many marbles are in a box of marbles?
Example 8 A box contains 3 blue, 2 white, and 4 red marbles. If a marble is drawn at random from the box, what is the probability that it will be (i) white?
How many ways can 11 marbles be selected at random?
Leaving the 4 red balls there are 8 blue and 3 green balls. So Out of 11 (blue balls+green ) 11 can be selected in 1 way. D. if six marbles are selected at random, what is the probability that two of each color marble will be selected?
What is the chance of two blue marbles being 7/17?
Since you have two blue marbles, this means it is without replacement (with replacement gives a different answer). To start off with, 7/17 are blue. With one less marble and one less blue, the chance for the second is 6/16, so multiplying these together, 7/17 * 6/16 = 21/136. Comment on David Severin’s post “Since you have two blue m…”
What is the probability of 136 visitors to a costume shop?
Well, I’m not great at this stuff, but I can at least try. There are 136 visitors, because 97 + 26 + 13 = 136. 13 visitors purchased more than one costume, so the probability is 13/136. I personally don’t understand the last part, so I can’t help you there.
