What happens in your surroundings when it rains?
Ans. When it rains in my surroundings, there is sudden cooling and the trees and flowers all appear to be clean. All around the rain drops start falling making pitter patter sound. There is water all over and streams of water start flowing along both the sides of the road.
What changes do you see around you in rainy season?
Come monsoon, the mood changes. People are forced to remain indoors. Animals and birds seek shelter. There is lightning and deafening thunder.
What changes do you notice in the sky and in the atmosphere before it rains?
Huge condensation occurs which allows the atmosphere to become over saturated with water droplets that causes the burst of the condensed water or the clouds to break into rain. Before the rain the sky becomes dark due to the condensation of the water or the formation of the clouds.
What happens in the atmosphere before it rains?
When relative humidity reaches 100\%, moisture in the air begins to condense. The temperature at this point is called the dew point. Further cooling causes some of the vapor to condense into liquid droplets that form clouds, fog or dew. If the droplets continue to develop, they will eventually form rain.
What happens to the sky when it is about to rain?
As the water vapor rises up in the air, it condenses, or starts to cool down and turns back into a liquid. Then, droplets of water start to stick together as clouds. When enough droplets stick together in the clouds, they become large and heavy and are pulled down towards the earth by the force of gravity.
How does atmosphere affect weather?
It stores vast quantities of energy gained in evaporation and it has a profound effect on the weather processes. Without it, there would be no clouds or rain. The amount of moisture in the atmosphere varies widely. When the atmosphere is warm, it can hold more water vapor then when it is cold.
What is atmosphere and effect to our weather system?
As a basic definition, weather is the state of the atmosphere. Most weather occurs in the troposphere, or the lowest layer of the atmosphere. Weather elements form a chain reaction, as the impacts do not remain solely in the atmosphere. Temperature, pressure and humidity (moisture) can interact to form clouds.
How does change in the atmosphere affect us?
Climate change is already impacting human health. Changes in weather and climate patterns can put lives at risk. Heat is one of the most deadly weather phenomena. As ocean temperatures rise, hurricanes are getting stronger and wetter, which can cause direct and indirect deaths.
What is changing in our environment?
Global climate change has already had observable effects on the environment. Glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes is breaking up earlier, plant and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner. Net annual costs will increase over time as global temperatures increase.
What happens when it rains what happens to the water?
“What happens when it rains?” is the classic question that “Hydrology” tries to answer. When it rains, it produces runoff that depends upon the intensity of rainfall. If intensity of rainfall is less than the infiltration rate of soil, there would not be any runoff as all the water will be soaked by the soil.
What happens when it rains on uneven land?
Once on the land, rainfall either seeps into the ground or becomes runoff, which flows into rivers and lakes. Water falling on uneven land drains downhill until it becomes part of a stream, finds a hollow place to accumulate, like a lake, or soaks into the ground. What happens when it rains in Georgia?
When it rains, it pours. If you’ve been outside recently, you have most likely experienced the phenomenon of water falling from the sky, AKA rain. Especially in Georgia, it seems as though it rains at least two or three times a week. Here are a few things that happen to all of us on rainy days.
What happens to rain that does not contribute to runoff?
All the rain which happens doesn’t contribute to runoff. We always have some losses i.e., Infiltration loses, depression storage (water that gets accumulated into surface depressions) and interception losses (water that is intercepted by canopies). Some of the water even get evaporated mid way which is very minute in quantity.
