What does being free mean to you?
For others, freedom means being able to make their own choices without worrying about money — you get the idea. Freedom is as individual as the person, and how they handle it is also up to that person. If freedom is at your core, I know from experience that there is a battle that goes on inside.

Freedom, generally, is having the ability to act or change without constraint. A person has the freedom to do things that will not, in theory or in practice, be prevented by other forces.
How do we achieve true freedom?
True freedom is only achieved when our hearts are changed, not when the books are balanced. The same can be said for political and verbal freedom. Both are significantly good and should be advocated and protected, but they are peripheral freedoms in comparison to true freedom. True freedom occurs only in the heart when it is changed and made new.

The World Book Encyclopedia defines freedom as “the ability to make choices and to carry them out.” However, it adds: “From a legal point of view, people are free if society imposes no unjust, unnecessary, or unreasonable limits on them.”

Former President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, said it quite beautifully in a speech that there are these four freedoms: Freedom of want – meaning that economic stability can be achieved.
What do people want freedom for?
People desire freedom. It is the ability to make your own decisions, to do the things you want or to be able to travel to different parts of the world without any form of obstruction. People have many definitions of freedom based on their own situation and circumstances in life. Since time immemorial, people have been fighting for freedom.
