Should I delete poor performing Instagram posts?
Deleting your content doesn’t affect the work of the Instagram algorithm. We don’t recommend deleting any content published on your profile. Why? Archiving is not only better for the algorithm but also enables us to come back to these posts and even re-archive them to your profile.
Should I delete a post if it doesn’t get likes?
A post with little to no likes is embarrassing; deleting them is not so much of an overreaction as you may think. In the terms that social media has set today, getting less then 10 (or maybe even 20) likes on a post is a cringeworthy occurrence.
Should I archive my posts?
That last point is important—if you delete posts, they’re gone forever. But if you archive them, you can still access them at your own discretion. That’s why it’s generally best to archive posts. This hides them from your main feed, timeline, memories, and all that, but you can still see them if you choose to.
Why do people archive all their posts on Instagram?
As I mentioned, the idea behind Archive on Instagram is to take any post in your gallery and “archive” it. This removes it from your gallery so no one else can see it any more. But, if you wanted to keep it, and all the engagement and analytics that were on the post, Archive allows you to do just that.
What happens when you delete an archived post on Instagram?
When you archive a post, it vanishes from your profile. However, it only disappears for others for you can still see it under the Archived posts section on Instagram. Once you delete it, you cannot recover it and neither can Instagram. The only option is that you’ll have to upload the photo/video again.
Does archiving hurt your Instagram?
Instagram Insights still considers data from posts sent to the archive, meaning that your archive can be the best of both worlds: out from in front of your followers’ eyes but still valuable for metrics and engagement. You can simply shelve them in your Instagram Archive for the time being.
Why you shouldn’t delete Instagram posts?
PLUS, if you go and delete hashtags on a bunch of old posts, this is considered bulk activity which will flag you on Instagram and most likely get you put in temporary jail so that your new content gets much lower reach and you most likely will not show up in new hashtag searches for the new content.
Oh, and you can use the same hashtags as many times as you want without penalty, so there’s no good reason to delete the old ones. If you go in and delete hashtags after 5-7 days, you’re doing your account a huge disservice by losing all of the searches and views you could have potentially received on those posts.
What is the point of archiving on Instagram?
So Instagram is rolling out a new feature called “archive” that lets you hide any of your posts from everyone else, but keeps them safe for you to look at in private or restore to visibility.
Why are people archiving their Instagram posts?
Instagram’s archive feature gives users a way to remove a post from their public profile without permanently deleting it. The archive feature was launched by Instagram in June of 2017. It allows users to remove a post but to keep the option of reinstating it later.
