How do I know if I found my passion?
Here are six common clues that let you know you’ve stumbled upon your own passion:
- Positive feedback early on.
- You wonder how others can’t do what comes easy to you.
- You read about something for fun in your spare time.
- You dive deep into the history of things.
- You lose track of time.
- You get back up after a setback.
Why should I not follow my passion?
Not knowing your passion can be a source of tremendous stress and anxiety. For those who have yet to find it, this advice can make us think there’s something innately wrong with us (there isn’t). It gives the impression that passion should come with ease, organically, or a magical “dream job” is waiting in the wings.
How do I find my true passion?
Instead of consciously thinking about your passion, let your passion come to you. It’s somewhere inside of you, hiding because it’s afraid to expose itself. You just have to trust that someday it will seemingly appear out of nowhere. When that day comes, make a happy dance, celebrate, whatever, but the next day, wake up and start working.

They become etched into your being, your identity, and your sense of self. So once that passion fades, a moment of panic may set in. You may feel anxiety or deep depression at the thought of no longer doing that thing that once defined you.
