Does the Common App delete your account?
Your account won’t be deleted. When the new application is available on August 1, you will be able to roll over your information.
Can you log into an old Common App account?
In order to log in to a previously created account, you must have logged in sometime between August 1, 2020 and July 28, 2021. Otherwise, your account is no longer available.
Does taking college off Common App list delete application?
You can remove a school by clicking the X icon on the school name line on the Dashboard. However, a school cannot be removed from your list once the application has been submitted.
How do I find my Common App ID?
The Common App ID (CAID) is located at the top right corner of each page within your Common App account. If you contact a college to which you’re applying through the Common App, it’s a good idea to provide your CAID so they can know a bit more about you.
Where is my Common App essay?
In the writing section of your Common App tab, you will see a table that lists each college’s requirements. Many colleges include short answer questions or essay prompts within this section. You can find specific information about each college’s individual writing prompts here.
How long does Common App keep your info?
The Common Application keeps your personal information for as long as it is necessary to provide you with the Common Application service or we have another legitimate reason to retain it, including longitudinal studies using aggregate data.
Why is my Common App not working?
If problems persist, restart your computer, check your system and change browsers if necessary. If that doesn’t work, contact the Common Application Help Desk. Hint: Print out and date your Print Preview just before submitting so that you have a hardcopy record of the document—just in case!
How many colleges can you apply to on Common App?
20 colleges
Keep in mind you may only add up to 20 colleges. You may adjust your list of colleges at any time. Once you’ve submitted, you will not be able to remove those schools from your My Colleges list.
What happens when Common App closes?
The Common Application will be shutting down at 11:59 PM on July 12, and re-launching on August 1. All applicant data will be cleared from the system, and any work done on your application before then will be lost. You can still begin your application early, as long as you take the right steps to save your work.
Is Common App closed?
This year, the 2019-2020 Common App for first-year applicants will be offline from July 28-31, 2020 in preparation for the launch of the 2020-2021 application on August 1. Additionally, the transfer application will close on July 30.
When can students create an account on the Common App?
Students don’t have to wait until Aug. 1 to get started on the Common App. They can create an account at any time and transfer their information into the new app when it opens.
Do I have to use the Common App to apply to college?
Students are not required to use the Common App. While the platform is popular, it isn’t the only one for college applications. Many schools allow students to apply online through their websites. Some states have application systems that students can or must use in order to apply to colleges.
How do I delete a college from my list?
Click the “My Colleges” link on the left side of the window. Click the “Remove This College” button under every college in the list. When you click this button, you will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the college from your list. Click the “Yes” button to remove the college. Repeat this process for every school in the list.
