NROTC. Join the Navy while attending college through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship program. It pays for school, provides leadership training and offers money for up to five years of college. You can apply for the program while you’re still in high school or college.
All SEALs must go through the 24 week Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL school and then a 28 week SEAL qualification training program. Only 1\% of sailors who enter BUD/S school complete it — and that’s not the end of training. Training for a first deployment can take as much as 30 months.
How long do you have to be in the military to be a Navy SEAL?

Do Navy SEALs go to college?
No college degree is required to become a Navy SEAL, but the standards of qualification require the kind of mental and physical fortitude that few possess.
Many SEAL enlisted are college graduates with advanced degrees even. So after college you can either enlist, join as an officer by attending OCS – Officer Candidate School OR you could get a military scholarship and attend college for free by joining an ROTC college or the U.S. Naval Academy.
To be an enlisted person you don’t need a degree and you go through the branch’s Basic School, boot camp. Now a second part of the answer is that you should join, officer or enlisted, the Navy to do a job that you want to do selected from a list of qualifying fields that the SEALs accept people from.
Do you have to go to SOAS to become a seal?
Applying to Officer Candidate School and wanting to become a Navy SEAL means you actually will be selected to go to BUD/S immediately after you complete OCS. You will attend SOAS before attending OCS. If you do not get a billet after SOAS, you do not have to go to SOAS, unless you want to go as a different job in the Navy.

Can you join the Marines and then go to BUD/S?
There is no such thing as joining the Marine Corps, then going to the BUD/S program. You can join the Marines, but you have to get out of the Marines and join the Navy to go to BUD/S.
