A hobgoblin captain activates its Leadership feature just before melee combat begins, buffing every one of its allies’ attacks and saving throws by 1d4. If an enemy it’s fighting retreats, it won’t give chase, but if it doesn’t have another melee target, it will throw javelins at the retreating enemy.

Although they work with/for bugbears, they don’t get along. Won’t betray their comrades (even Bugbears) but quite happy to retreat when losing. Wear well-made, decorated armour and favour military weapons like swords, halberds etc.
How often can you use inspiring leader?
A creature can’t gain temporary hit points from this feat again until it has finished a short or long rest. So yes, they can use this feat once per rest, so it is just a hefty HP boost. Also that ten minute line makes it basically a ritual.
Does aid stack with inspiring leader?
Yes. Aid is not temp hp, it is a temporary increase to max hp. I can see why that would be confusing, but they are treated differently by the rules. Aid stacks with all other effects, and unlike temporary hp it can be restored by healing spells if lost before the spell expires.
Does inspiring leader work on yourself?
YES! Inspiring Leader allows you to (emphasis mine): Choose up to six friendly creatures (which can include yourself) within 30 feet of you who can see or hear you and who can understand you. Do you need more than one?
