Can INFP develop NI?
No, according to the theory of cognitive functions it is not. If anything these would be shadow functions – in a sense we have all eight functions but we use only the “first four” of our stack. Shadow functions are not my expertise, so in almost every sense of this topic: no, an INFP does not have an Ni or a Ti.
What cognitive functions do INFPs have?
The INFP’s cognitive functions are: Introverted Feeling (Fi) Extroverted Intuition (Ne) Introverted Sensing (Si)
How does INFP think?
INFPs are normally focused on creativity and how things make them feel, but in their grip they want to focus on the details and the facts rather than the emotions behind them. They strive for accuracy in a way which can seem rather unlike them and even push away the people who care for them most.
Are INFP good at maths?
And the short answer of the question, Intelligent INFPs definitely enjoy maths, no matter how good they are in other subjects, their creativities often allow them to create logics for a math problem. And often, the INFPs prove to be better mathematicians than a huge number of INTPs and ENTPs.
Can INFP have strong NI?
Yes, it is possible, because MBTI isn’t a cookie cutter. Some of us use our brain more than others. That’s just the way it is. I am a textbook INFP cognitively, but my Ni is quite strong.
Is INFP Introverted intuition?
Introverted intuitive INFP type personalities rely heavily on our own intuition to guide us through life. We are highly intuitive when it comes to understanding other people’s motives and emotions. Although not usually detail-oriented, INFPs can be very observant of the emotional states of those around us.
How do Infp make decisions?
INFPs want every decision they make to align with their personal values and identity. It’s only through checking their own visceral emotional reaction that INFPs know how a decision aligns with them, so usually they don’t know if a decision is right for them or not until after they’ve made it.
How do INFPs use their extraverted thinking?
For the INFP their extraverted thinking helps them to see things from a clear perspective, looking at the facts enough to be able to find a logical answer to the problem. INFPs will use this function when it is necessary, rather than allow it to help them make all of their choices.
How can you develop your critical thinking skills?
You can develop your critical thinking skills by looking for those dissenting opinions and evaluating them for yourself. Doing this gives you a broader perspective and helps you make better quality decisions. Another way to do this is to discuss the information or situation with a group of friends who have different life experiences from yours.
What are INFPs like as individuals?
Usually, INFPs are very open-minded and gentle individuals, but if they’ve had to be in a defensive stance for much of their life they may not be able to develop their supportive functions (like intuition, sensing, or thinking) to balance feeling and create a healthy mindset.
Why are INFPs so scared of introverted thinking?
Because Introverted Thinking is the INFP’s 8th function, they can risk seeing it as overly impersonal, detached, cold, and formulaic. All of us, regardless of our type, need to be aware that all the cognitive functions are useful and valuable. There isn’t one that is inherently better than another!
