Is morality a human experience?
Morality claims our lives. As human beings, we experience life in a world of good and evil and understand certain kinds of actions in terms of right and wrong. The very structure of human exis- tence dictates that we must make choices. Ethics helps us use our freedom responsibly and understand who we are.

A plausible moral theory should be consistent with the fundamental facts of our moral experience, namely: A good moral theory must be useful; it must help us solve moral problems in real-life situations. Usefulness is a necessary, but not sufficient, characteristic of a good moral theory.
