Why do objects make different sounds?
When the particles of object are disturbed then due to vibration, the sound is produced of different frequencies. The combination of different frequency produces the special sound. When the different objects drop on floor then each object vibrate at its natural frequency and produce different sound.
What are the sounds made by objects?
Sounds made by different objects
Object | Sound |
---|---|
Thunder | Rumbles |
Aeroplanes | Zoom |
Bells | Peal/Ring |
Bows | Twang |
How do things make noise?
When any object vibrates, it causes movement in the air particles. These particles bump into the particles close to them, which makes them vibrate too, causing them to bump into more air particles. If your ear is within range of the vibrations, you hear the sound.
Why the sound is different in three materials?
Sound travels at different speeds depending on what it is traveling through. Of the three mediums (gas, liquid, and solid) sound waves travel the slowest through gases, faster through liquids, and fastest through solids. Temperature also affects the speed of sound.
Do objects actually touch?
Well, technically speaking, you can’t actually touch anything. This is because the electrons in the atoms that make up your finger and that of the object you’re trying to touch repel each other (according to the basic law of electrostatics).
How are sounds produced by non living things different from sound produced by living things?
Answer: Noise produced or created by non living objects are usually called non-biological (mechanical and environmental) action sounds. Example: Machines, Music Instruments, etc.. Sounds produced by living things are called biological action sounds (human and animal).
What is the clock sound called?
The sound of clock is called Tick tock.
Does everything make a sound?
Actually there is no sound in space because vibrations are made with objects and those objects are matters. When the sound waves are made they travel through the air and there aren’t any matters in space and there isn’t air so there aren’t anything sound waves can travel through.
Why can and can’t two things touch?
This is basic physics. What we call touching is our brain interpreting the electromagnetic force between atoms created by electron repulsion. Thus, whether or not two things can or cannot touch depends on what we mean by touch.
Is it true that we can’t touch anything without feeling it?
That’s true. Two particles can never touch because of a force between them. Always an amount of space will remain between two particles as long as they don’t merge. We can’t touch anything but can feel it. When we press something soft, it will bend or dent, but we cannot go beyond the force between our skin and the object we touch.
What happens when two particles of the same material touch?
When two particles touch they create nuclear fusion or fission (depending upon what happens when they touch). In other words, two things actually touching would cause a nuclear reaction. This is explained by E=mc 2. So the bottom line, forces can be exchanged and fields can overlap, but two things can never touch.
Can two atoms touch each other?
Atoms contain electrons and electrons repel each other. This is basic physics. What we call touching is our brain interpreting the electromagnetic force between atoms created by electron repulsion. Thus, whether or not two things can or cannot touch depends on what we mean by touch.
