What did Jesus teach us when he was on earth?
During His ministry on earth, Jesus Christ taught His followers the way back to God, giving purpose to their lives and to ours today.
What was Jesus called before he came to the earth?
His name was “I AM”, or “JHVH”. Many translations of the Old Testament traditionally print this name as “GOD” or “LORD” in all capitals. The God of the Old Testament was the same being that became Jesus. It wasn’t until his incarnation that humanity ever learned about the existence of God the Father.
How should we believe in Jesus?
The Bible says that sin keeps you separated from God, so admitting that you’ve sinned is the first step toward believing in Jesus. Trust that Jesus is God’s son and that He died for us. Since sin keeps us separated from God, we can’t reach Him on our own.
What does it mean to put your faith in Jesus?
To have faith in Jesus Christ means to trust Him and obey His commandments. Faith is much more than passive belief. We express our faith through action—by the way we live.
What would happen if Jesus came back to Earth today?
If Jesus were to return to earth in bodily form today, it would not be to heal the sick, cause the blind to see, or the lame to walk again as we read about in the gospels. If Jesus were to manifest himself again among the people of the world, it would not be to heal our land of racism, drug addiction, pornography, or political division.
How would Jesus be treated today as he was two thousand years ago?
In Matthew 24:38, Jesus compared this day to the days of Noah before the flood as people “were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage.” Jesus tells us in verse 42 to be watchful, as we do not know the day of his return. Jesus would be treated in much of the way today as He was over two thousand years ago.
What was the purpose of Jesus’ ministry on Earth?
The purpose of Jesus’ ministry on earth was to fulfill the desires in obedience of his Heavenly Father. As he answered those looking for him in Luke 2:49, “I must be about My Father’s business.” Today, believers can rest assured that he is still “about” this business seated at the right hand of the Heavenly Father.
