Can you joust left-handed?
In a tournament, you couldn’t joust left-handed because the enemy would hit you and not your shield. This is because you’re forced to go down one side of the list and not the other. Two left handers could joust one another with no problem.
Were there any left-handed knights?
Left-handed knights would have had no troubles, except left-handed people could never become knights because it was assumed that they were descendants of the devil. What were the rules of medieval jousting?

Tournament jousting (during the Middle Ages) was always done with the lance in the right hand, angled over the horse’s neck to the left at less than 30 degrees (more than that would overly diminish the forward thrust of the lance).
How do you hold lance in joust?
The hand that is holding the lance should be “palm up” with the thumb extending away from your opponent. This will help prevent wrist injury during solid strikes, and is less fatiguing as the palm rather than the grip of the fingers will hold the weight of the lance.

Finger Jousting is a sport, similar to thumb war, where two people hold hands like they are arm wrestling. They extend their index fingers. The objective of the game is to try and poke the opponent while keeping their index finger locked under the other, not letting it go.
